What the tax collector requires
PIP $10,000 and PD $10,000. That is the floor to put a plate on. It is not a liability program. If you hurt someone on US-1 with no bodily injury coverage, the claim can reach your house and savings. Afterward the state may demand financial-responsibility proof — the old 10/20 idea — under worse terms.
People call the floor “full coverage” because a lender required collision. Collision is your car. BI is other people. Different jobs.
Why 100/300 is the adult starting number here
$100,000 per person / $300,000 per accident bodily injury, with UM to match, is the Palmetto starting quote for households with assets or a mortgage. 250/500 plus an umbrella is the next step. The extra premium versus 10/20 is usually less than one car payment.
Property-damage $10,000 does not replace a new pickup. We quote $50,000 or $100,000 PD as well.
No-fault does not mean no lawsuit
Florida’s PIP threshold still allows injury claims when the facts qualify. A serious crash is not a PIP-only event. Defense costs sit on the liability grant. No BI means no duty to defend from that coverage.
Quote the limit you would want the other driver to have
That sentence is the whole method. Start an auto quote. We will show the floor and 100/300 on the same page.
