Agreed value is the point
You submit photos, a value, sometimes an appraisal. The carrier agrees. If the car is a total, that number (minus deductible, subject to the form) is the conversation. Not NADA for a daily driver. Not a Facebook argument. If the value is a dream, the underwriter will say no. If it is documented, we can often get there.
Stated value is not the same as agreed value. Stated is often a cap, with ACV underneath. We will not blur those words. They pay differently.
Mileage, clubs, and the daily-driver disqualifier
Collector programs want limited miles, a second regular-use vehicle, and sometimes club membership. If you drive it to Doral five days a week, it is a regular auto. We will place it as such, or we will not place the collector form. Lying about mileage is how a claim becomes a recorded statement.
Shows, coastal drives, and a Cars & Coffee are normal. Rideshare is not. Modifications that are not on the application are not.
Hurricanes, flood, and a garage that is not a bunker
Comprehensive on a collector policy should include flood and wind-related falling objects as the form allows. A car left on the street in a surge zone is a decision. A garage in Palmetto Bay is better. A garage that floods is still flood — usually comprehensive on the auto, not the house flood policy. Confirm. Photograph the garage. Move the car inland if you have the luxury.
Heat kills interiors. That is maintenance, not a claim. We still want the car covered for the things that are claims: theft, vandalism, a tree, a surge.
Trailers, spare parts, and the second policy people forget
An enclosed trailer can be scheduled. Spare parts in the garage sometimes have a sublimit. Tools are not the car. If you tow to shows, we look at the tow vehicle’s auto and the trailer. Miami-Dade theft of trailers is not folklore.
How we write it
Year, make, VIN, photos, value, where it sleeps, annual miles, and the daily driver you also own. Start a collectible quote. An advisor will pick agreed-value markets. If the car is too modified or too daily, we will say so and quote standard auto instead — still honest, still insured.
